Low-visibility weather has actually canceled the flyover of dozens of World War II aircraft on Saturday that was indicated to honor 75 years because the war ended.
Rather, the group planning the event, Arsenal of Democracy Flyover, will air a video homage on their Facebook and YouTube pages at 10 a.m.
. The flyovers were expected around the National Mall at 11:30 a.m.
. The sky show was initially scheduled for Friday however pushed back due to weather conditions. The program can't be rescheduled once again because the group's permission to fly over restricted airspace expires on Saturday.
“We're sorry we couldn't put on the flyover we had actually prepared,” the group said. “We thank you all for your assistance and understanding.”
Fog is expected around downtown D.C. on Saturday morning, Storm Team4 Meteorologist Lauryn Ricketts says.
“I believe in fact they're going to have to actually watch,” Ricketts said. “We are going to have some fog through the morning.”

The flights were set to begin over the Lincoln Memorial, go north to south down the Potomac River then east along Independence Avenue and over the National Mall.

The lineup of aircraft consisted of P-40 Warhawk, P-39 Airacobra, P-51 Mustang, B-29 Superfortress and more classic aircrafts. In two-minute periods, the airplanes were set to fly in developments that honor major fights of World War II, from the Battle of Britain to the last attack on Japan.
The final development would have been a missing guy tribute.
