WASHINGTON, D.C.–” 99 bottles of beer on the wall “might be an age old saying, but for 24-year-old Jason Cherry, it is the inspiration for 99 self-pour taps in Tap99, a brand-new taphouse and dining establishment located straight across the street from the Nationals Park primary gates.
Set to open this spring, Tap99 will be the very first fully self-pour taphouse in Washington D.C. The 2,800 square foot concept will consist of 99 self-pour taps using beer, white wine, ciders, and pre-mixed mixed drinks, with options being constantly turned with new, seasonal selections from regional craft breweries and suppliers. The place will have 98 indoor seats, primarily consisted of communal tables, and will have an outdoor patio with seating as well. Tap99's kitchen area will focus on craftsmen pizzas made in a handcrafted Marra Forni brick oven, in addition to other small and shareable plates.
“I'm enjoyed bring DC's very first fully self-pour taphouse to the vibrant Navy Yard community,” stated Tap99 owner Jason Cherry, who likewise owns Mission Escape Rooms, the largest escape room company in Maryland. “Not just will our self-pour experience translate into shorter wait times, it will permit clients to sample percentages of a range of our 99 drinks on tap. We eagerly anticipate welcoming Navy Yard homeowners, visitors and Nats fans alike to experience this distinct principle.”
Self-pour taphouses are a new principle, providing an unique and various consumer experience than a standard bar setting. Upon entering, customers are provided an RFID card that is linked to their kind of payment. Patrons use the RFID card to trigger the electronic self-pour taps of their choosing. Consumers are charged by the ounce, indicating they can pour as little or as much of their drink of choice. Self-pour technology produces a fun, interactive experience for customers, and in addition, wait times and touch points with personnel are reduced.
