The threat of political violence was replaced with a sensation of overwhelming security. That security stayed in location well past Wednesday’s inauguration, leaving some locals to question when the military and authorities presence will subside. Celebrity chief Jose Andres transformed his close dining establishments in the shut down zone into operations to feed the National Guard and policeman lining the empty parade path. “Especially during the night, hot soups not just to security forces but numerous homeless that regrettably in the city, conventional NGOs are not able to access them,” said Chef Andres. There was no crowd for them to control, though. The core of the capitol city had 10 miles of concrete barriers and 25 miles of fencing set up, secured by 40,000 National Guardsmen, Federal Agents and local cops.
