Huntsville chiropractor sees patients for preventative care during coronavirus health orders – WAAY

Dr. Jessica Koelker-Davis, the owner of Cove Chiropractic in South Huntsville, stated many of her patients are still receiving care. However, she stated back in March her workplace saw the impact of coronavirus due to the fact that many clients were too anxious to come for their appointment.

“We actually saw a decrease in patients due to the fact that individuals didn't know if they should go outdoors not to mention leave their house,” she described.

Koelker-Davis treats a range of patients of any ages doing preventative care and helping those who battle with back pain, neck discomfort, headaches and a range of other problems.

She said patients who are now operating at house stated it's taking a toll.

“In the last couple of weeks [I have heard], ‘Oh my gosh I have actually been working from the couch with a 2-year-old hanging off of my shoulders, and I had this excellent established at work and now I'm working from the kitchen area table. I'm working from the couch and I am unpleasant. Can you please help me?'” Koelker-Davis stated.

She stated when chiropractic care was deemed vital by the Alabama State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. A lot of her patients were experiencing concerns with their home/work set-up.

“We adoringly describe it as ‘tech neck' or ‘Netflix back.' We live our whole lives here. They're miserable, and they don't have their fantastic ergonomic set up like we ensured they had at work,” she said.

In order to keep clients safe, she told me they removed group treatment and are not having people in the waiting room.

Koelker-Davis and her personnel are also all using masks and welcoming clients to do so also.

“Every patient has their own space, so they're private and safe and remote. We have actually downsized hours a little bit to make sure we have sufficient time to sanitize and thoroughly scrub this put so everyone is safe as they can be,” she said.

Koelker-Davis said she's also changed hours here at Cove Chiropractic to offer her personnel and her lots of time to clean flooring to ceiling.
