A 1-year-old kid was gunned down Wednesday night as he rode in an automobile along the Washington D.C.-Maryland border, authorities stated.
The baby was traveling with a guy and another kid near 5700 Southern Avenue SE when their lorry was assaulted at about 9:30 p.m., cops said.
“That automobile was struck numerous times, so as many as 10, possibly more” shots struck the automobile, Metro Police Chief Peter Newsham informed reporters.
Paramedics hurried the 1-year-old child, who was the only one in the car struck by shooting, to a neighboring hospital where he died, officials said.
Investigators believe the deadly shots were fired from another vehicle.
“That's what we're assuming today however that's subject to alter,” Newsham stated.
The scene of the shooing, Southern Avenue SE, functions as the border between the District of Columbia and Prince George's County, Maryland.
